Little Yao

I met this little boy in the mountain town of Dazhai near the Longji rice terraces. He may have been Tofu Man’s son, but I am not sure because he would simply appear anywhere I would go. After a while he got used to me and just started following me around the town as I made my way in and out of random houses. I would be setting up my tripod and camera for a shot while he quietly watched and as soon as I hit the shutter he would begin jumping up and down on the old wooden floor boards … he knew exactly how to mess with me. I ended up having to pick him up and carry him around everywhere. After a while he would run off and I would see him at another random place. I swear he had a series of underground shortcuts because he could always find me. I never got his name, but the villagers were all Yao ethnic group, so I aptly named him little Yao.
