Design in Motion
I am not quite sure what this is. I figured it was some sort of metallic expression of design in motion or something to the effect, because it was hanging outside the Engineering department at UC Berkeley. I recently returned to my alma mater to reminisce of my formative years, when I wandered into a small chamber under the main engineering quad and saw this thing suspended in mid-air ... slowly spinning of its own volition. When I saw it, I froze like a kid who had just stumbled upon his parent's secret underground lab and I waited to see if I had tripped any security alarms. When I was convinced that the strange skeletal being was not going to zap me, I slowly relaxed and walked around the circle mesmerized at how it effortlessly created it's own sense of movement. What a bold little structure to be blatantly ignoring the conventional rules of motion. I like your style, little shiny rule-breaker. It was good to meet you.
